Chris Busby

Chris Busby is the Executive Director for the Chambers County Development Authority (CCDA). Chris has been with the CCDA since 2015 and his primary duties include project management, governmental affairs, industrial/retail development, community development, and entrepreneurship. Chris also works with the area school systems, and assists local governmental entities with public policy, downtown development, funding programs, and marketing. Chris is a native of Chambers County and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Alabama in 2004. He returned to his hometown of LaFayette after graduation and practiced journalism before joining the CCDA. Chris is a graduate of Class XXXV of Leadership Alabama and Class I of the Alabama Leadership Initiative. He is also a graduate of the Intensive Economic Development Training Course at Auburn University and of the inaugural Applied Economic Development Honors Class at the University of Alabama. Chris is a former member of the Chambers County Board of Education. He serves as the President of the Board of Directors of Valley Haven School and is on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Economic Development Association of Alabama. Chris is the Vice President of the Board for the Chattahoochee Valley Water Supply District and serves on Boards for the East Alabama Community Foundation, and the Chambers County Museum. He is a member of State Senator Garlan Gudger’s Rural Roadmap subcommittee on economic development. Chris has also previously served as President of the LaFayette Rotary Club, on the Chambers County School’s Gifted Students Advisory Committee and on the Alabama Association of School Board’s Advocacy Committee.
