The Institute does not endorse or recommend employers, and a posting does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation. The Institute explicitly makes no representations or guarantees about job listings or the accuracy of the information provided by the employer. The Institute is not responsible for safety, wages, working conditions, or any other aspect of employment without limitation. It is the responsibility of applicants to perform due diligence in researching employers when applying for or accepting employment and to thoroughly research the facts and reputation of each organization to which they are applying. Applicants should be prudent and use common sense and caution when applying for or accepting any position.

Business Listing Guidelines

Fellows and Advisory Board members are encouraged to create a business listing under the Resources Tab on Blackburn Connect. Community members may browse these listing to expand their professional network and support Blackburn entrepreneurs.

Blackburn staff may choose to highlight Fellows and Advisory Board members who have created business listings in the Blackburn newsletter or on social media.

Business listings will be approved according to the following guidelines:

  • The Blackburn Institute reserves the right to reject any business listing. The final decision regarding if a listing is accepted lies with Blackburn staff.
  • Listing for businesses that discriminate on the basis of genetic information, race, color, religion, national origin, sex (which includes sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression), age, disability, or veteran status will not be accepted.
  • Businesses that sell products or services that are illegal in the state of Alabama will be rejected. Alcohol and tobacco promotions are not accepted in business listings. Business listings that the Blackburn Institute deems false or misleading will be rejected.
