Ted Hosp

Ted Hosp is an attorney and the Vice President of Governmental Affairs for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama. Prior to joining Blue Cross in 2018, Ted was the Chair of Maynard Cooper & Gale’s Governmental & Regulatory Affairs practice and served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Alabama School of Law from 2003 to 2011. Ted received his undergraduate degree in Soviet and Russian History from Brown University in 1989, his law degree from Fordham University in 1994 and a master’s in strategic communications from Troy University in 2021.

Ted is the current Chairman of the Board for Legal Services of Alabama; he serves as Chairman of the Birmingham Business Alliance Governmental Affairs Committee. He also serves on the boards of the Alabama School of Healthcare Sciences Foundation, The Frank M. Johnson Foundation, the Children’s Aid Society, and Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama. Since 2014, he has chaired a non-profit that assists students with financial need from Alabama’s 7th Congressional District with housing and stipends while interning in the Office of Congresswoman Terri Sewell. He and his wife, Alison, have four children and live in Montgomery, Alabama.
